Dans ces cas-l\u00e0, l&#039;agriculture n&#039;utilise pas une ressource renouvelable, mais \u00e9puise des r\u00e9serves accumul\u00e9es pendant des d\u00e9cennies, voire des si\u00e8cles.<\/p><p><strong>Le risque n&#039;est pas seulement environnemental. Il est aussi \u00e9conomique et li\u00e9 \u00e0 la productivit\u00e9.<\/strong>Les syst\u00e8mes agricoles construits sur des bases hydriques non r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrices sont intrins\u00e8quement fragiles et vuln\u00e9rables \u00e0 un effondrement soudain en cas de perte de capital hydrique.<\/p><h2>Au-del\u00e0 de la s\u00e9cheresse, la fin du \u00ab retour \u00e0 la normale \u00bb<\/h2><p>L&#039;un des messages les plus pertinents associ\u00e9s au concept de faillite de l&#039;eau est <strong>la fin de l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un \u00ab retour \u00e0 la normale \u00bb<\/strong>Autrefois, une saison s\u00e8che \u00e9tait suivie d&#039;une p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9tablissement ; aujourd&#039;hui, dans de nombreuses r\u00e9gions, ce r\u00e9tablissement n&#039;a plus lieu.<\/p><p><strong>Les nappes phr\u00e9atiques ne se rechargent pas, les lacs ne retrouvent pas leurs niveaux historiques, les zones humides disparaissent ou perdent de leur fonctionnalit\u00e9.<\/strong>L\u2019agriculture se trouve donc confront\u00e9e non pas \u00e0 une crise temporaire, mais \u00e0 de nouvelles limites hydrologiques permanentes.<\/p><p>Ce sc\u00e9nario n\u00e9cessite un <strong>examen approfondi des strat\u00e9gies agricoles<\/strong> car les cultures, les techniques d&#039;irrigation, les investissements et les politiques ne peuvent plus se fonder sur une disponibilit\u00e9 en eau historique qui n&#039;existe plus.<\/p><h2>La question n&#039;est pas de savoir quelle quantit\u00e9 d&#039;eau il y a, mais quelle quantit\u00e9 il en reste.<\/h2><p>Le concept de faillite de l&#039;eau introduit une <strong>crit\u00e8re de lecture radicalement diff\u00e9rent<\/strong>.<br \/>La question n&#039;est en fait plus \u00ab quelle quantit\u00e9 d&#039;eau tombe ou coule au cours d&#039;une ann\u00e9e donn\u00e9e \u00bb, mais <strong>quel niveau de retrait est soutenable sur le long terme<\/strong>.<\/p><p>En agriculture, cela signifie faire la distinction entre\u00a0:<\/p><p>\u2022 <strong>eau renouvelable<\/strong> utilis\u00e9 dans les limites de charge<br \/>\u2022 <strong>eau \u00ab emprunt\u00e9e \u00bb<\/strong> <strong>du futur<\/strong>, par la baisse du niveau des nappes phr\u00e9atiques ou la d\u00e9gradation des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<\/p><p>De nombreux syst\u00e8mes agricoles fonctionnent aujourd&#039;hui gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette deuxi\u00e8me cat\u00e9gorie, souvent <strong>sans une r\u00e9elle conscience de l&#039;\u00e9quilibre hydrique global<\/strong>La p\u00e9nurie d&#039;eau rend r\u00e9elle, l&#039;\u00e9tat hydrique du sol et le d\u00e9veloppement v\u00e9g\u00e9tatif des cultures n&#039;est plus un exercice technique, mais une <strong>condition n\u00e9cessaire<\/strong> pour \u00e9viter de consommer davantage de ressources en eau.<\/p><p>Cela s&#039;applique \u00e0 la culture fruiti\u00e8re ainsi qu&#039;\u00e0, surtout, aux syst\u00e8mes de culture extensive et aux nouveaux mod\u00e8les de production, tels que<a href=\"https:\/\/tethys.farm\/fr\/la-production-agricole-augmente-grace-aux-donnees-satellitaires-et-a-lagrivoltaisme\/\">agrivolta\u00efque<\/a>, qui l&#039;eau.<\/p><h2>L&#039;agriculture comme partie de la solution<\/h2><p>Le rapport des Nations Unies montre clairement que <strong>La p\u00e9nurie d&#039;eau ne peut \u00eatre trait\u00e9e secteur par secteur<\/strong>Il s&#039;agit d&#039;un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne mondial, interconnect\u00e9 par le commerce, les flux alimentaires, les migrations et la dynamique climatique.<\/p><p>Dans ce contexte, l&#039;agriculture a une responsabilit\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re, mais aussi un potentiel d\u00e9cisif.<br \/><strong>R\u00e9duire le gaspillage, am\u00e9liorer l&#039;efficacit\u00e9 de l&#039;irrigation, adapter les pratiques culturales et fonder les d\u00e9cisions sur des donn\u00e9es objectives.<\/strong> Cela signifie contribuer non seulement \u00e0 la r\u00e9silience des entreprises, mais aussi \u00e0 la stabilit\u00e9 des territoires locaux.<\/p><p>L&#039;agriculture, en d&#039;autres termes, n&#039;est pas seulement victime de la p\u00e9nurie d&#039;eau : c&#039;est aussi l&#039;un des domaines o\u00f9 l&#039;on peut encore trouver des solutions. <strong>inverser la trajectoire<\/strong>, si vous acceptez d&#039;op\u00e9rer dans des limites clairement d\u00e9finies.<\/p><h2>Grandir dans de nouvelles limites<\/h2><p>Reconna\u00eetre la p\u00e9nurie d&#039;eau ne signifie pas renoncer \u00e0 la production agricole, mais plut\u00f4t <strong>abandonnez l&#039;illusion de l&#039;eau infinie<\/strong> et construire des syst\u00e8mes de production capables de durer dans le temps.<\/p><p>Dans un avenir proche, le d\u00e9fi ne sera pas de produire plus \u00e0 tout prix, mais <strong>produire d&#039;une mani\u00e8re compatible avec le capital en eau disponible<\/strong>, en mesurant, adaptant et corrigeant continuellement les choix.<\/p><p>En ce sens, la p\u00e9nurie d&#039;eau est une invitation \u00e0 <strong>repenser l&#039;agriculture comme une activit\u00e9 profond\u00e9ment li\u00e9e aux limites naturelles dont elle d\u00e9pend<\/strong>.<br \/>Et les reconna\u00eetre aujourd&#039;hui est le premier pas vers leur \u00e9radication
