En estos casos, la agricultura no utiliza un recurso renovable, sino que consume reservas acumuladas durante d\u00e9cadas o siglos.<\/p><p><strong>El riesgo no es solo ambiental. Tambi\u00e9n es econ\u00f3mico y productivo.<\/strong>Los sistemas agr\u00edcolas basados en recursos h\u00eddricos no regenerativos son inherentemente fr\u00e1giles y vulnerables a un colapso repentino cuando se pierde el capital h\u00eddrico.<\/p><h2>M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la sequ\u00eda, el fin de la \u201cvuelta a la normalidad\u201d<\/h2><p>Uno de los mensajes m\u00e1s relevantes asociados al concepto de quiebra h\u00eddrica es <strong>El fin de la idea de un \u201cretorno a la normalidad\u201d<\/strong>Antiguamente, a la estaci\u00f3n seca le segu\u00eda un per\u00edodo de recuperaci\u00f3n; hoy en d\u00eda, en muchas regiones, esta recuperaci\u00f3n ya no se produce.<\/p><p><strong>Los acu\u00edferos no se est\u00e1n recargando, los lagos no est\u00e1n recuperando sus niveles hist\u00f3ricos y los humedales est\u00e1n desapareciendo o perdiendo funcionalidad.<\/strong>Por lo tanto, la agricultura se encuentra operando no en un contexto de crisis temporal, sino dentro de nuevos l\u00edmites hidrol\u00f3gicos permanentes.<\/p><p>Este escenario requiere una <strong>revisi\u00f3n profunda de las estrategias agr\u00edcolas<\/strong> porque los cultivos, las t\u00e9cnicas de riego, las inversiones y las pol\u00edticas ya no pueden basarse en la disponibilidad hist\u00f3rica de agua, que ya no existe.<\/p><h2>La pregunta no es cu\u00e1nta agua hay sino cu\u00e1nta queda.<\/h2><p>El concepto de quiebra h\u00eddrica introduce una <strong>criterio de lectura radicalmente diferente<\/strong>.<br \/>La pregunta, de hecho, ya no es &quot;cu\u00e1nta agua cae o fluye en un a\u00f1o determinado&quot;, sino <strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1nta retirada es sostenible a lo largo del tiempo?<\/strong>.<\/p><p>En agricultura esto significa distinguir entre:<\/p><p>\u2022 <strong>agua renovable<\/strong> utilizado dentro de los l\u00edmites de carga<br \/>\u2022 <strong>agua \u201cprestada\u201d<\/strong> <strong>del futuro<\/strong>, a trav\u00e9s de la reducci\u00f3n de los niveles fre\u00e1ticos o la degradaci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas.<\/p><p>Muchos sistemas agr\u00edcolas actuales funcionan gracias a esta segunda categor\u00eda, a menudo <strong>Sin una conciencia real del balance h\u00eddrico general<\/strong>La quiebra del agua hace expl\u00edcita esta ambig\u00fcedad y ya no la podemos de quiebra h\u00eddrica, <strong>La agricultura no puede basarse en estimaciones aproximadas ni en intervenciones correctivas tard\u00edas<\/strong>La gesti\u00f3n del agua se convierte en una cuesti\u00f3n de <strong>medici\u00f3n continua<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Conocer las necesidades reales de riego, la evapotranspiraci\u00f3n real, el estado h\u00eddrico del suelo y el progreso vegetativo de los cultivos ya no es un ejercicio t\u00e9cnico, sino una <strong>condici\u00f3n necesaria<\/strong> para evitar consumir m\u00e1s capital h\u00eddrico.<\/p><p>Esto se aplica tanto al cultivo de frutas como, sobre todo, a los sistemas de cultivo extensivos y a los nuevos modelos de producci\u00f3n, como<a href=\"https:\/\/tethys.farm\/es\/la-produccion-agricola-aumenta-con-los-datos-satelitales-y-la-agrivoltaica\/\">agrivoltaico<\/a>que prometen la coexistencia entre la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola y la energ\u00e9tica, pero que deben evaluarse teniendo en cuenta las limitaciones reales del agua.<\/p><h2>La agricultura como parte de la soluci\u00f3n<\/h2><p>El informe de las Naciones Unidas muestra claramente que <strong>La quiebra del agua no se puede abordar sector por sector<\/strong>Se trata de una situaci\u00f3n global, interconectada por el comercio, los flujos alimentarios, la migraci\u00f3n y la din\u00e1mica clim\u00e1tica.<\/p><p>En este contexto, la agricultura tiene una responsabilidad particular, pero tambi\u00e9n un potencial decisivo.<br \/><strong>Reducir el desperdicio, mejorar la eficiencia del riego, adaptar las pr\u00e1cticas de cultivo y basar las decisiones en datos objetivos.<\/strong> Significa contribuir no solo a la resiliencia empresarial, sino tambi\u00e9n a la estabilidad de las zonas locales.<\/p><p>La agricultura, en otras palabras, no es s\u00f3lo una v\u00edctima de la bancarrota h\u00eddrica: es uno de los lugares donde todav\u00eda se puede <strong>invertir la trayectoria<\/strong>, si acepta operar dentro de l\u00edmites claros.<\/p><h2>Creciendo dentro de nuevos l\u00edmites<\/h2><p>Reconocer la bancarrota h\u00eddrica no significa renunciar a la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola sino m\u00e1s bien <strong>abandonar la ilusi\u00f3n del agua infinita<\/strong> y construir sistemas de producci\u00f3n capaces de perdurar en el tiempo.<\/p><p>En un futuro pr\u00f3ximo, el desaf\u00edo no ser\u00e1 producir m\u00e1s a cualquier precio, sino... <strong>Producir de una manera que sea compatible con el capital h\u00eddrico disponible<\/strong>, midiendo, adaptando y corrigiendo continuamente las opciones.<\/p><p>En este sentido, la quiebra del agua es una invitaci\u00f3n a <strong>repensar la agricultura como una actividad profundamente ligada a los l\u00edmites naturales de los que depende<\/strong>.<br \/>Y reconocerlos hoy es el primer paso para no superarlos
