Having reached its <strong>third edition<\/strong>, this initiative is a <strong>meeting point<\/strong> between companies, institutions, universities and trade associations, with the aim of stimulating the competitiveness and sustainability of the Lazio agri-food sector. The project involved <strong>centers of excellence for research and innovation<\/strong>, expert tutors and technical partners for <strong>accompany companies in the development process<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The Food Innovation Lab path has included an intense<strong> co-design activities<\/strong>, aimed at <strong>transform ideas into concrete services and products<\/strong>, capable of responding to the challenges of the sector, including the<strong>resource optimization<\/strong>, the<strong>adoption of sustainable practices<\/strong> and the<strong>compliance with European regulations<\/strong>.<\/p><h2>The project presented by Tethys<\/h2><p>TETHYS was selected to participate in this edition of the Food Innovation Lab thanks to a <strong>innovative project focused on horticultural crops<\/strong>, with particular attention to water management. As already described in <a href=\"https:\/\/tethys.farm\/en\/the-future-of-precision-agriculture-at-fieragricola-21\/\">a previous study<\/a>, the project was carried out on a <strong>sample plot cultivated with tomatoes <\/strong>and, at a later time, on<strong> a plot of land planted with carrots<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/tethys.farm\/en\/precision-water-irrigation-2\/\">Tethys Aqua<\/a>, it was possible <strong>analyze daily water balance<\/strong> And <strong>estimate crop irrigation needs<\/strong>. The<strong>comparative approach<\/strong> between traditional irrigation practices and the recommendations provided by TETHYS has highlighted a <strong>significant water saving potential<\/strong>. In addition, a<strong>2024 Season Yield Analysis<\/strong>, which confirmed the reliability of the estimates provided by the platform. This project not only demonstrates the<strong>effectiveness of solutions<\/strong> of TETHYS, but also underlines <strong>the added value that they can bring to the agri-food sector<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The Food Innovation Lab path has also allowed us to identify <strong>an increasing demand for tools for estimating yields during the season<\/strong>. De Sanctis explained <strong>how this solution can help farms manage water resources more efficiently<\/strong>, reducing waste and increasing the sustainability of crops.<\/p><p>The event was also an opportunity to <strong>comparison between participants<\/strong>, with numerous companies and professionals from the agri-food sector present for <strong>discuss the challenges and opportunities related to innovation<\/strong>.
